The tempo doubles, and a four bar intro of I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 leads to the first verse.
Let's take a look at the construction of the 12 verses (including fade). There are two slightly different constructions of the 8-bar phrases which make up the regular verses (A) and "Cheap Thrills"-only verses (B).
(A): I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7- IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 - I - bVII - I -bVII
(B): I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7- IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4 - I - IV6/4 - I7 - IV6/4
Note the two bars which complete the (A) phrase of I - bVII! This is beginning to show up quite regularly in TCWOFZª, always tastefully done! Notice also how FZ varies the presentation of the verses. Verses 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 are regular verses. Verses 3, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 12 are "Cheap Thrills"-only verses.
